You can fill out our Feedback Survey! It's very simple -- all you do is fill in the blanks and check any boxes or buttons you want. Then press the "Submit!" button, or to clear all the fields and start over, press "Clear." Please include your e-mail address with your survey. And thank you in advance for all your suggestions!
The Guestbook uses fill-in-the-blank form technology. All you have to do is press "Sign Guestbook" in the Navigation Bar on the top left of any page. This takes you to the "Sign the Guestbook" page. Fill in any information and add some fun comments and press the "I'm Done!" button when you are finished. Again, if you mess up, just click the "Start Over!" button to clear the form. When you're done, you will be sent to an external page thanking you for signing the Guestbook. Just press "Return to my homestead" (or a similar link) to get back to the Gospel Choir Home.
Each thumbnail in the pictures area (or any other tumbnail on the site) is a clickable link to the original 200 dpi picture. All you have to do is to click on the thumbnail to see a bigger, better copy of the picture. Unfortunately, you can't blow up pictures on the site unless you download them to your own computer and use a program such as Adobe's Photoshop. The maps are even less resolution and are not clickable images (except for the image map on the campu.html page). If you need a better picture of these maps, look in your course catalog or e-mail the Webmistress.
The large map you see before you is what is called an image map. If you scroll down, you will see a number of red dots. These mark the locations of the on-campus concerts. Clicking on any of these dots will cause the page for that concert's map and directions to come up, and you can find your way to the concert!
There are a few explanations for this occuring:
- First, the format could be unsupported. The majority of the pictures and graphics on this site are in .jpeg format (some are .gifs). This is an extremely commonly supported format, but it is possible that older computers or those running computers that are not running Windows or MAC-OS could have some problems.
- Second, your internet connection could have timed out. This happens especially when a slower connection is trying to download a page rich with multimedia (which is why we have a slow connections pictures page). When an internet connection times out, the file on the page is too large to download within the specified amount of time. You can do a few things to try to remedy this: first, try to reload the page. If this still doesn't work, you can try changing the settings for your internet connection (but be careful!).
- Or, for a few more explanations: a link is broken, some HTML code has been deleted from a page, or the picture itself has been deleted from the server. We're sorry for any inconvenience, and if the problem persists, please e-mail the Webmistress
There are a few explanations for this occuring:
- First, the link may be pointing to a spot nearby on the same page. Look for familiar text.
- Second, the link could have actually been updated while you were on the page! (I work that fast! ::grins::) So you can try re-loading the page and clicking on the link again.
- Or, the link could have been created incorrectly, it could be pointing to an incorrect location, it could be pointing to a part of the page that doesn't exist yet, or it could be misplaced. If the problem persists, please e-mail the Webmistress
For some reason, this is an extremely common problem, not only with Geocities message boards but with boards at many locations. Don't worry about it -- go back to the message board via the way you first entered. Then try to view the message you tried to post. Nine times out of ten, it will be there. The tenth time... Well, all I can say is that the "Back" button on the browser comes in pretty handy -- you'll have to go back and try to re-post (sorry!)
This is a common Geocities problem, especially during the wee hours of the night. This probably means that Geocities is doing some sort of work on their servers and the server will probably be okay with your request if you try it again in a few minutes. However, if you keep getting this message consistently (especially if you have been trying to file problem letters or sign the Guestbook for over a day), please e-mail the Webmistress.
Similar to the "Our Server Didn't Like That Request" problem, this is a common Geocities problem. Try this: first, press the "Back" button on your browser. Then try re-loading the page and either re-click the link or fill out the form again (sorry!) and re-file it. If this doesn't work, Geocities could be working on their servers, so you might want to try again in a few minutes or hours. But, like the previous example, if this persists, e-mail the Webmistress.
This is probably intentional -- the author of the page probably wanted to keep you on one page while you travelled to another, so (s)he included a "New Window" tag in the source code. On this site, most of the new windows that pop up are for pictures -- so don't worry too much!
Most of the time, this shouldn't happen. On certain computers, a .jpg viewer must be opened to see a .jpg picture, or a program such as Notebook must be opened to view a .txt file. However, this is not common and no other links on this site should cause a program to run. So check out what the program name is and ask a Computer Science major what is happening!!
